$15,000 Goal

The mission of the Grand Island Public Library Foundation is to enrich the Library's services and to provide enhanced opportunities for Library users to discover and use information for an improved quality of life. The Library provides access to life-long learning for our community. No matter what age, race, gender, religion or socioeconomic status, learning needs can be met at the library.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit working to support the mission of the Grand Island Public Library, since 1961. The Grand Island Public Library Foundation exists to enhance the Library's programs, resources, and services. One of the Foundation's emphases is early childhood literacy programs, such as the Summer Reading Program, BookBop, Baby Lapsit, Makerspace and Storytime. The Foundation enriches these and other library programs by providing annual funding. Your gift also supports the purchase of books, videos, and audio resources, as well as supporting special exhibits and library technology.

Testimonials

"The Grand Island Public Library is a very special place. I was born to a single, struggling mother in Grand Island. We were often without a home and spent cold nights sleeping in the car or looking for a place of safety. The library became that place for us. It was the first place that I can remember feeling a sense of safety and wonder. " Chris H.
