The Youth Philanthropy Board (YPB) is a dual-pronged initiative, creating proactive support systems for youth by youth. Supported by community mentors (local business professionals), GGICF staff, and Leadership Unlimited, YPB:
- Provides opportunities for all types of student leaders who're quiet, highly involved, or don't have the best grades-ensuring every teen voice can make a difference.
- Each year, YPB juniors identify community needs and use these insights to guide grantmaking decisions, awarding upwards of $25,000 annually to local nonprofits for impactful projects.
- Seniors take the lead in fundraising through written appeals, in-person asks, and events, securing the necessary funds for these grants. This collaborative effort ensures program sustainability and empowers teens to address community needs while developing valuable philanthropic skills.
