GIVE Offline
While we encourage online giving for the most seamless experience, enhancements to nonprofit success, and appropriate donor recognition, we understand that some donors may prefer to give by cash or check, or give through other methods that take a bit more time to process. Please keep in mind that offline donations are not eligible for prizes, and a tax receipt will only be issued to offline donations if they are $250 or above.
Offline donations may be accepted in the following circumstances:
- Challenge or matching gifts when credit card or ACH options are not available.
- Donations when electronic payment is not feasible.
- Distributions from donor retirement accounts (such as IRA gifts).
- Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) grants.
- Please note: Proceeds collected at events will be accepted, but will only be entered as 1 donation. Per IRS tax guidelines for events, these donations will not receive a tax receipt.
To ensure your gift is counted toward Go Big GIVE, please note:
- All offline donations must be delivered to Heartland United Way by 8:00 PM on May 7.
