Opportune Acres

A nonprofit organization

Mission Statement: It is our mission to provide resources and programs for individuals with special needs by offering diverse opportunities that foster inclusion. Our Existence: Making sure everyone has the same opportunities to participate in every aspect of life to the best of their abilities and desires.

When two healthcare workers began to see some major gaps in our healthcare system for the most vulnerable populations, Opportune Acres was founded. In 2021, we began the journey to provide services to the best people (those with different needs and abilities) in the best areas (rural communities). Our programs include Special Swimmers (adaptive swim lessons), Traveling Horse Therapy (equine partners for local library programs, daycare fun days, and summer camps), Assisted 4-H (allows youth with disabilities to participate in 4-H projects with accommodations), LEAN (Supplemental Therapy Program for children with physical disabilities), and Advocate (special education consulting).

Testimonials

"This is the second participation in aquatic therapy that Elias is a part of and he has been progressing, he has been taking swimming classes since he was four years old with very little results and everything has changed since he began this form of therapy, he is more confident in his abilities to swim and overcoming his fears. I have witnessed the hard work and dedication of each of the therapists, they are always thinking outside the box to help each child. I am grateful for this program.
