Our Grand Legacy Memorial Stadium Project

A nonprofit organization

Our Grand Legacy Memorial Stadium Project mission is to secure funds to renovate and preserve Grand Island's seventy-four year old stadium which includes the addition of the Hall County Veterans Memorial Wall inside renovated East Stadium.

Grand Island Public Schools Foundation continues to lead the fundraising campaign for Memorial Stadium. In December of 2018, West Stadium was torn down and construction began. This was possible thanks in part to our generous community organizations, Go Big Give and hundreds of donors. On September 6, 2019 West Stadium was able to accommodate the first varsity home football game. Fans were able to sit in the new grandstand and get a preview of how amazing the entire facility will be once it was complete in the Fall of 2020. The campaign was set to finish in the spring of 2020, but the COVID-19 Pandemic had other plans. At this time, construction is complete, the stadium is in use and we look forward to the days ahead. A rededication ceremony was held in August of 2021 to celebrate the completion of construction and to allow community members and donors the opportunity to tour the facilities. To complete the fundraising for the renovation of the historic East Stadium we need to raise $252,000 to meet our project fundraising goal of $17,000,000.
