Aurora Adopt a Pet

The mission of Aurora Adopt a Pet states "to provide humane care and treatment for animals, reunite pets with owners, and promote the adoption of homeless animals. To educate the community about animal welfare to prevent cruelty and relieve suffering of animals in its service area."

Aurora Adopt a Pet is a volunteer driven organization that includes an eight member Board of Directors, about 30 volunteers, and one paid shelter manager. AAAP exists to better the circumstances of lost and homeless pets. We work in our local and surrounding areas as well a collaborating with other rescues across Nebraska. We have facilitated programs for people ranging from youth to residents of nursing homes.

We are very excited to begin a capital campaign this year to improve and expand our shelter. We have a number of fundraisers planned for 2025, including our chili and cinnamon roll feed February 22. We have set a goal of $10,000 from donations, silent auction items, a raffle, and of course our chili and cinnamon rolls.

By increasing our work with the community, we hope to raise awareness of the needs our community and the animals who share it.
