EPIC Discovery Center

The EPIC Discovery Center's mission is to engage families to explore creativity and community through experience-based learning and play; to explore possibilities and inspire creativity.

The EPIC Discovery Center (Formerly known as the Grand Island Children's Museum) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that aims to bring learning to life for youth and families in Central Nebraska, with a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math)-based activities. The EPIC Discovery Center will develop the Grand Island Armory Building on Old Potash Highway next to Ryder Park near the new inclusive playground. This site was selected due to its centralized location, ease of accessibility by the community, and adjacency to Ryder Park, which is an activity hub for the Grand Island community.

After securing a $5 million matching grant from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, EPIC will require $4 million in additional funding to complete the construction, establish initial programming, and fund an endowment for long-term sustainability.
