Little Storm Childcare

We would love to create a 'Calm Corner' with funds from Go Big Give. This would include some comfy furnishings, sensory tools, visual resources, and soft lighting and ambiance. We all have times that we have big emotions and just need a break. We want to create a space for our kids to go when they just need a break that is a 'safe-space' and not time-out. If funds are available, we would also love to add some sound absorption panels. This would lower stress for sound-sensitive children and improve clarity for the caregivers in the space, creating a calmer environment. 

Our mission is to be a caring, inclusive, and safe environment with focus on fostering children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through child centered play experiences.

Little Storm Childcare was formed by a group of parents in Clarks coming together in the fall of 2023, by spring of 2024 the center was open for business! We are a non-profit daycare center that provides the reliability of a center but has the comforts of an in-home daycare. Under the direction of our director Katelyn Beck, director in training Hailee Broman, and assistant director in training, Sadie Butcher, Little Storm Childcare serves infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children, with a licensed capacity of 30 children. The facility currently employs 4 full-time staff and 3 part-time staff along with 3 high schoolers; and has 22 children enrolled (part time and full time) along with 5 more infants signed up to start in 2026! We are proud of how far we have come in such a short time and excited for the future of our center to be able to create a welcoming and safe space for the families in our community.
